Today Ana Juan, president of the Consell de Formentera, and Juan Antonio Yern, president of the Association of Livestock Farmers (Associació de Ramaders), signed an annual collaboration agreement to support the island's livestock sector around animal health and improved production systems in 2023. Josep Marí, rural environment councillor, and Carlós Marí, manager of the Country Cooperative (Cooperativa del Camp), attended the signing as well.

The Consell de Formentera will finance activities to benefit animal production and health to the tune of €37,000. Under this agreement, the Association of Livestock Farmers undertakes to support the Consell de Formentera around animal production and health as well as actions related to animal welfare and identifying animals on Agrupación de Defensa Sanitaria-member farms and in performing the sanitary actions agreed in the yearly common Health Programme. Likewise, the association will continue engaging with and educating its member farmers about individual actions.
