Consell regrets events of Formentera Half-Marathon, apologises to participants and volunteers

The Formentera Office of Sports regrets the events that occurred during the Formentera Half-Marathon due to a lack of water at runner refreshment points, and offers apologies to the participants who were affected, as well as to volunteers. The Consell has requested explanations from the organising company, which takes responsibility for its miscalculation in the second year of the race without disposable plastic bottles. In the years ahead, we will work with the organisers to ensure that this does not happen again and to improve the service and support received by participants. Further, we will continue working to make the event sustainable, as regards both single-use plastic and the responsible use of water.
