The talks will be streamed by Can Ventosa’s Espai Cultural (Cultural Space) and the YouTube channel of the Institut Balear de la Dona (IBdona). In-person attendees can register here.

Last year’s launch of the Feminist Classrooms coincided with the 20th anniversary of the founding of IBdona, the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action and the 40th anniversary of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The initiative continues in 2021, celebrating a new milestone: five years since passage of Spanish legislation enshrining equality between women and men.

The Feminist Classrooms are a space for learning and reflection which organisers hope will give way to new initiatives that not only reinforce equality, but also offer tools to reshape the social, economic and cultural structures which, over time, have been a glass ceiling and a sticky floor for female potential.
