Anna Ametller’s “Juliol” takes up residence tomorrow at Centre ‘Gabrielet’

cartell 2020 juliolTomorrow at Centre Antoni Tur ‘Gabrielet’, the artist Anna Ametller will pull the curtain back on “Juliol”. The exhibition of recycled artefacts, repurposed by Ametller as sculptures, invites visitors to feel summer as a visual experience. “It’s a feeling that’s pleasant, fresh, poetic and child-like”, offers the artist.

Ametller points out that she plucked many of the materials that made it into the show —driftwood, scrap metal, plastic and rocks— from the Formentera shoreline. For the artist, each one signifies a distinct emotion: wood embodies warmth, for example, while plastics recall the opposite end of the spectrum.

The show opens tomorrow 1 July at 5.00pm, and is scheduled to run Monday to Saturday, 10.30am to 2.00pm and 6.00pm to 8.00pm, until 10 July.
