Following a tying off of the area on Monday, work will begin on the northern pavement between carrer Guillem de Montgrí and carrer València. Parking will not be available while construction is under way but businesses are advised that, in order to ensure stores can stay open, pedestrian access will be left unaffected. Normal traffic flow in both directions will also continue unperturbed.

The remodel includes repaving, widening pedestrian walkways, eliminating architectural barriers, undergrounding services like sanitation, drinking water, telephone, electricity and street lights as well as general street improvements. The upgrades will be familiar to improvements last winter carrers Guillem de Montgrí and València.

A new dedicated bike lane and electric vehicle recharge points are other standout features of plans.

The second phase of work, scheduled for next winter, will effect the stretch of road from Guillem de Montgrí to the school. The remodel's total price-tag is 1.9 million euros.
